I am an User Experience Designer living in Forchheim / Germany.
I love turning complex problems into smart and intuitive designs, which are not only beautiful but easy and efficient to use. It is not only about the peoples experiences with the product itself - it is about a journey of touchpoints that lead to a valuable brand experience and its perception.
Currently I’m working fulltime for DATEV eG.
When I’m not working, you’d probably find me outside playing beachvolleyball or exploring nature with our bikes or by foot. Besides doing sports I like to play music in worship bands. Lately I did first steps with gardening to grow our own vegetables and fruits.
UX Design is not about making it pretty. Every service is embedded within a story. Excellence UX is when all touch points a user has with a brand work seamlessly together and help to reach his or her goals. Beyond a single product.
A Company creates value and grows when great experiences lead to sustainable business models. That will turn users into customers and engagement into revenue.
I believe in strong collaboration, partnerships and teamwork, because we can learn from each other and push ideas to the next level. No matter if workshop scenarios, open space or think tanks: let's collaborate in order to create the best experience possible.
I don't want to keep my domain knowledge to myself in order to make myself irreplaceable for the company or the team. Sharing is caring. Teams should be empowered to make own user-centric decisions. Real value comes out of multiplication.
A (digital) product is never finished. There is no perfect solution form a first try, it neither has to be for the most cases. The beauty of perfection is in ideation and continuous growth. Let's try to find the sweet spot between perseverance and compromise in order to take the next step.
* Where ever it is possible - e.g. in heath care sector products better be finished, certified and approved in order to help and not harm or kill people.
User Research
Design thinking: conducting interviews (live or remote), usability tests, field studies, defining use cases and help them turning into user stories, usability engineering. Methods like "how might we..." help to concentrate on a user problem and how it could be fixed.
Prototyping
Start simple and easy: quick scribbles with a pen on paper, brainstorm in a group or workshop with methods like "Crazy 8s", paper prototyping or using sticky notes to visualise user flows, tasks and interaction sequences.
Once an idea is shaped I like to change to quick and dirty digital solutions in order to discuss feasability or get feedback.
Evaluation
Planning, execution and evaluation of little and larger usability tests (e.g. with "think aloud" method), analysing feedback or Data from A/B tests together with the team, communicate the findings and make sure we learn from the results.
Design
I have a passion for pixel perfect visual designs that is not only modern and fresh but also represents the companies or the brands vision and promise. I master software as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch or other Tools that are out there. But it's not a specific tool that makes a great designer.
Collaboration & Product Management
Teamwork matters: I like to communicate and work very closely with product managers, developers, business or stakeholders in an agile environment where teams can evolve. Together we can brainstorm and find ideas how to improve product or company KPIs. With my expertise in product management I'm able to support with release planning and feature management, evolving internal processes, roadmap planning and documentation.
Software
It's not a specific tool that makes a great designer - it is the mind set and the capabilities to know how to use it. If you want you can learn a new tool very quickly.
Nevertheless I have experience using Figma, Balsamiq Mockups, Sketch, Adobe CC Suite, InVision, JIRA, Confluence and more...
